TV Program Launches on Child Abuse Prevention

Intimate Crimes, a 30-minute television special that aims to educate parents about child sexual abuse and how to protect their children, is airing in markets throughout Florida in April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The program, which features Florida experts, adult survivors of child sexual abuse, advocates and a convicted pedophile, is part of a statewide education campaign,  ‘Don’t Miss the Signs’  – a joint effort of the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Lauren’s Kids foundation to raise awareness about child abuse reporting and prevention.

Lauren Book, childhood sexual abuse survivor and founder and CEO of Lauren’s Kids, is currently on a 1,500-mile walk across the state to educate communities about the issue of abuse and advocate for legislative change to better protect child victims.

Check your local listings for airdates and times to view Intimate Crimes in your area.
