Sachs Media Group’s rebranding of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs and its campaign to better reach veterans was honored as the best PR program in Florida at the 2013 Florida Public Relations Association conference this week. The award marks the second time in five years that the firm has won the industry’s top annual honor.
“It is a great honor to be recognized for work that is making our state a better place for veterans and other Floridians and helping our clients achieve their goals,” said Ron Sachs, President and CEO of Sachs Media Group. “Our team deeply values the opportunity to actively assist such wonderful clients as FDVA and to bring our best to that effort every day.”
This year, Sachs Media Group won nine awards for a broad array of work, including the Dick Pope All Florida Grand Golden Image Award for the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs “Honoring Those Who Served U.S.” campaign, which also received a Golden Image Award in the Institutional category.
The firm clinched a second Golden Image Award in the Public Affairs category for “Justice for Eric Brody,” a campaign to push for compensation for a young man permanently injured by a Broward County Sheriff’s deputy who ran a red light.
Other wins include a Judges’ Award in the Public Affairs Category for a campaign to help Florida’s Tax Collectors retain the responsibility for distributing license tags, a Judges’ Award in the News Release category for the “Title IX Op-Ed” created for the Florida High School Athletic Association, an Award of Distinction and Judges’ Award for the Lauren’s Kids “Walk In My Shoes” social media campaign and an Award of Distinction in the category of Online Promotion for the Water Quality & Health Council’s “Healthy Pools” Social Media Promotional Campaign.
Sachs Media proudly shared the stage with other members from the Tallahassee Capital Chapter of FPRA. The City of Tallahassee, the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Moore Communications Group, Salter>Mitchell and BowStern all scored victories across the board.
The Golden Image Awards competition is conducted annually by the Florida Public Relations Association to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Florida and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in the state.
