Take Stock in Children Appoints New CEO

Jillian Hasner has been appointed to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Take Stock in Children, a statewide non-profit organization with a 20-year history of helping low-income and at-risk youth break the cycle of poverty by providing scholarships, mentors and hope.

“Hasner is an experienced leader with a proven track record of delivering results for Florida’s corporate, government and non-profit leaders and is perfect to build upon the organization’s success,” said Ted Carter, Take Stock in Children Board Chairman.” As TSIC continues to expand its workforce and career readiness initiatives, she will be instrumental in creating partnerships and opportunities for our students to meet these demands.”

In her new role, Hasner will lead all facets of the organization, which currently serves nearly 8,500 low-income and minority students annually from middle school through college across the state of Florida. Working with an experienced team of professionals and an active Board of Directors, she will oversee all aspects of the operation. This will include fundraising and development, program services, board governance and strategic partnerships, as well as community and legislative affairs.

Hasner has over two decades of diverse public sector experience having worked at the highest levels of state and national government. For the past five years, she has led a business consulting firm that has specialized in strategic planning, fundraising and development, corporate communications, branding, and community engagement for various businesses, non-profit organizations, healthcare entities, and educational institutions.

Hasner has successfully raised tens of millions of dollars for various organizations, helped secure legislative approval for important policy initiatives, implemented strategic business objectives for corporate growth and helped build community consensus among targeted audiences to achieve goals.

“I am proud to be joining such a dynamic organization that is on the forefront of making a difference in the lives of thousands of Florida students and families every year,” said Hasner. “This opportunity brings me full circle, since I served as a TSIC mentor in 1999 while working for the Governor of Florida who was an early and strong advocate for the program.”

Hasner values service to the community and has been active as a volunteer locally and statewide for several organizations including Guardian Ad Litem, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, as well as serving two terms on Florida’s Federal Judicial Nominating Commission.

About Take Stock in Children

Incorporated in 1995 and maintaining a 96 percent high school graduation rate, TSIC is Florida’s flagship and most successful mentoring and scholarship program.
