This year, Tallahassee continues a holiday tradition by providing residents with a “greener” way to dispose of their evergreens. Four Points by Sheraton Tallahassee Downtown has once again been designated as an official drop-off location to recycle old Christmas trees. The trees will be ground into mulch and used on the walking paths and trails to further improve Tallahassee’s City parks. After removing all decorations and ornaments, members of the community are encouraged to bring their holiday trees to the drop-off location at 316 West Tennessee Street anytime between December 26, 2014 and January 4, 2015.

“We’re so excited to be participating in this program again this year,” said hotel general manager Bo Schmitz. “Our company is highly involved in conservation and environmental initiatives, so this is a perfect fit for us. Christmas trees that would normally end up in a landfill will be given a second life and reused as mulch to help improve and beautify our City parks.”

By partnering with the City of Tallahassee in this effort, Four Points by Sheraton Tallahassee Downtown furthers its green initiatives program, which seeks to conserve resources and limit unnecessary waste through responsible business practices and environmental stewardship.
