Senior Account Manager Kelly Corder named Communicator of the Year
TALLAHASSEE — Continuing its role as a leader in its industry, Sachs Media announced that firm partner Drew Piers, who serves as Director of Campaigns, has become president of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Capital Chapter.
“Drew Piers is one of the smartest, sharpest, and most strategic professionals I have ever had the pleasure to call a colleague,” said Ron Sachs, Founder and CEO of Sachs Media. “He is incredibly motivated and talented and brings a strong voice to the communications sector. I know he will further contribute to the success of the Capital Chapter, our community, and the entire industry with his strong leadership.”
During the ceremony capped by Piers’ induction, Sachs Media colleague Kelly Corder was recognized as the chapter’s Communicator of the Year. Corder, who has been part of the Sachs Media team since 2019, has been a key part of the firm’s public relations practice. She is a lead on Sachs Media’s exceptional work representing national civil rights attorney Ben Crump – in fact, she missed the award ceremony in order to travel to the nation’s capital to accompany Crump at the March on Washington.
FPRA is a statewide organization linking over 1,000 professionals dedicated to advancing the profession of public relations. The Capital Chapter is the largest in Florida, featuring over 100 members across a wide range of local industries, including government, education, health care, corporate, and small business. FPRA creates a strong network for public relations professionals by providing support and education through programs, professional development seminars, and special events.
“Our Capital Chapter members are proving time and again how absolutely essential it is for organizations to communicate clearly and effectively with their audiences, especially during these challenging times,” said Piers. “It’s an unusual time for our profession, and I’m both honored and excited to have the chance to guide such a dynamic chapter alongside a fantastic team. Our members have risen to every challenge, and we look forward to working just as hard to help them do what they do best.”
As Director of Campaigns, Piers successfully manages and executes local, statewide, and national issue-based campaigns while developing strategic messaging for over 50 public affairs and management crisis management clients. Last week, a campaign he directed earned both an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award in FPRA’s statewide Golden Image competition. He holds a master’s degree in campaign management from Florida State University.
