Michelle Ubben, partner and Chief Operating Officer of Sachs Media Group, was recently named one of the “Top Women in PR” nationally by PR News, a leading industry publication. The list features the nation’s most influential women in public relations — leaders who set the agenda for the profession and within their companies.
Ubben has helped lead Sachs Media Group to be Florida’s pre-eminent independent public relations firms and one of the top 100 such firms in the nation. She oversees the firm’s Tallahassee practice and offices in three other Florida cities and Washington, D.C. Ubben is a veteran communications professional with more than 30 years of senior-level agency and government experience. Her rare combination of creative vision, communications expertise, organizational know-how and personable, team-building character blend to make her a true leader in her field.
“Michelle is one of the most innovative, insightful and inspiring individuals I have ever known, and she is wholly deserving of this significant honor,” said Ron Sachs, president and CEO of Sachs Media Group. “She is passionate and approachable, a mentor who positively impacts the entire staff every day. I am proud to call her my dear friend and great colleague, and I’m particularly pleased that our industry, nationally is learning what we already know to be true.”
PR News’ “Top Women in PR” list recognizes women who are making bold advances in creating brand messages, developing and guarding brand reputations, managing crises and crafting content for digital platforms. Ubben will be recognized along with the other honorees in New York City this month at an awards luncheon celebrating this year’s “Top Women in PR.”
“To be included with such an extraordinary group of women is a humbling honor,” Ubben said. “It’s a great blessing to be able to do what I love every day, knowing that I am helping to set a positive course for our firm, our team and our clients.”
Ubben, who has helped chart the direction of Sachs Media Group through most of its 20-year history, prides herself on leading teams in formulating bold and innovative approaches that engage the media and target audiences. With an ability to quickly grasp and adjust to complex client issues, she is always ready to apply perceptive strategic thinking to client challenges. Her energy and boundless enthusiasm for every client project infuses the office environment, setting an unwavering standard of excellence.
Ubben is no stranger to national and regional professional accolades. In 2014, her work was honored with a national Gracie Award® by the Alliance for Women in Media, as well as a regional Emmy® nomination for the 30-minute television program “Intimate Crimes: The Inside Story of Child Sexual Abuse.” Also in 2014, she was named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle in the category of public relations. She won an international Stevie Award for Women in Business in 2008, and in 2006 was a finalist for the National Public Relations Executive of the Year. That same year, she was one of five national finalists for the National Public Relations Executive of the Year award.
